Is losing fat and getting ripped this complicated?
You can’t eat a low fat diet if you want to get ripped! What about essential fats? All the low fat foods are highly processed and will spike insulin! Oh yeah? Well you sure as hell can’t eat a low carb diet! You will get all fuzzy brained and weak and won’t be able to train. I am so sick of listening to these two camps bicker back and forth about which is the best diet to follow if you want to see that elusive six pack. I have competed for over 20 years and guess what? I have competed and won using both. The secret to fat loss does not lie in the magic of one single macronutrient. Without a calorie deficit it makes no difference what you eat, so that is the first thing to address. Next you need to have adequate protein, 1 gram per pound is a good range for anyone although many people think more is better but thats up to them to decide. Now believe it or not it is not that important if the rest of your calories come from carbs or fat, as long as a calorie deficit is maintained. I do not recommend you make up your remaining calories with marshmallows but if you use whole food it is hard to go wrong. Maybe we are just making this a little harder than it needs to be.
